Sémillon is one of the white wine grapes originating in the Bordeaux region of France and is often blended with its cousin, Sauvignon Blanc. Our grapes are sourced from the Herrick Vineyard in the Warm northeastern area of the Russian River AVA. The vineyard is a stone's throw from the Russian River, so the warm days and cool nights are ideal for slow and even ripening.

Half of this vintage was fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks, while the other half was fermented and aged in neutral French oak. Barrel fermenting a portion of the wine in neutral oak adds texture and denseness without adding an "oaky" flavor, revealing the full-blown, round melon and citrus flavors and savory spice that this varietal is known for. The resulting wine is refreshingly balanced, with a round mouthfeel and crisp flavors of melon and honeysuckle.
